Weaning at 12 months

My last baby is 11 months old and I am looking at weaning him at 1.

All of his siblings were breastfed past 2, weaning themselves fairly easily once my supply dried up in later pregnancy and they realised there was nothing there. I have never had to actively wean.

But I have been lactating for YEARS, this baby likes solids and the odd sippy cup of cow’s milk, has a absurd mouthful of teeth and I am just done 🥲 He also seems much less bothered than his siblings.

Proud of myself and we haven’t had a hard time of it at all, but it’s time for me now. Any advice?

Is a more gradual approach best or should I take a load of sudofed and check myself into a nice hotel for a weekend? (Joking…unless 🥲)

I personally think a gradual approach is kinder. If you go away, baby would be fine but they will likely just expect it when you return. It's worked well for my daughter to cut day feeds first (she's 14 months), as I have more resolve in the day and can offer snacks/cows milk/distraction. They need to learn to be with you, without breastfeeding. if he's not bothered then it might be easier than you think!

Is he night weaned? I always think it’s a bit easier if they’re not waking fkr a BF at night Smile
