12 months switching to cows milk , suddenly night wakes

Hiya, my baby has just turned a year old. She has slept through the night from 3 months out of pure luck. (My 4 year old boy still doesn’t sleep great so it really is just luck) she started dropping her daytime bottles and only really wants milk (6/7 ounces) in the morning and night before bed.

We started to transition her to cows milk for the first bottle and is fine with it. Also has it with cereal etc in the day so seems like she can tolerate it. She absolutely guzzles it so it’s not that she doesn’t like it.

But recently she’s been struggling to stay asleep since the milk before bed turned to cows milk. Is there any reason for this? How would I help her ? Obviously she would have the bottle before bed forever but until she drops it why is the cows milk suddenly seemingly not letting her sleep through the night when she’s not had this problem since she was 3 months. Is it worth keeping her on formula until she does drop it?

just a bit confused as what to do

thanks in advance

Try back to formula for her bedtime feed? See what happens. Then you’ll know if it’s related. Could be teething or she’s a bit cold. The temperature has dropped a lot the last few days.

I’d switch back to formula for that bottle, but also it could be something else. Are you working to transition off bottles as that’s recommended after 12 months. Cows milk as a drink shouldn’t be more than 500ml a day

Another vote for switching back to formula for the bedtime bottle for a few nights and seeing what happens. At least that way you’ll know if it’s the milk or just coincidence Smile

Thanks everyone for your replies - now I’m thinking it wasn’t the milk change although we did go back to Formula for that bottle and it’s still happened. We think she’s in the 12 month regression, I don’t think she’s ever been affected by regressions in the past but this one seems pretty bad because she has just started crawling rolling over in her bed at night and trying to pull herself up to walk in the daytime. So a lot of developmental stuff going on which is affecting her sleep at night! Hopefully a phase that will pass quickly
