Nearly 11 month old still not interested in food

Hi,

My nearly 11mo still isn't very interested in food unless its chips off my plate 😅. I offer 3 meals a day a mixture of finger foods and spooned. She will eat fruit and yogurt and sometimes mash potato. If I give toast, pasta etc she will suck off the topping but that's it. She is also ebf and refuses a bottle. I'm happy to take it slow with the food and not be stressed but what is stressing me is retuning to work next month. I'm worried she will starve all day without breast milk or eating much! Any chance she will eat better without me (she will be with family not nursery) and will she just feed morning and night to make up for it?! Feel like feeding is such a battle with her. Thanks

How often is she feeding @Downtownabs?

RedToothBrush · 14/11/2025 08:38

DS didn't eat. He just didn't.

It was probably about 18 months before he really would have anything solid which wasn't custard. He would rather starve. This wasn't for lack of trying.

Sorry. I was still expressing because otherwise he just wouldn't have anything.

She still feeds quite a lot she wakes 2 hourly still at night 😬. If we are out and about though she will go for hours without breast its more if we are home she will keep asking, i do make sure i leave it at least an hour after milk for food and try to offer food 1st now at lunch and tea. She ate a quarter of a weetabix this morning which is actually a win!

She'll get there. They can make a lot of progress in a month.

Have you tried breast milk in a sippy cup? I'd buy a couple of different cups and see if she likes any of those.

In the meantime she won't starve even if she's only eating fruit and yoghurt. Keep offering a variety of foods. Keep letting her eat from your plate. Keep it low stress and fun. She'll get there.

Thank you. Yes actually she drinks water well from.a straw cup and she's had a few sips of milk from it but then pushes away but hopefully can build on that. Sje ate some tuna sandwich for my sister today typically haha so am hoping she'll be better with others 😬🙏
