My DS is about 13 weeks and with the exception of one top off of formula on Sunday by the grandparents is exclusively breast fed. He hasn't had a bm since Monday. This morning there was a spot off poo on his nappy but that's it. Nappies are wet. He generally eats 6 or 7 times/day is offered both breasts and usually feeds on both. Otherwise he's his normal feisty self. I'm not sure at what point I should really start to get concerned. Ay thoughts/input appreciated.

mine is 15 weeks, excl breast fed, just pooed MASSIVELY today after 3 days of no poo... he doesn't seem bothered, yehudi gordon baby book says anything upto once in 2 weeks is normal!

It can be quite normal for a breast-fed baby not to poo for several days - breastmilk is such a perfect food that there is often simply very little waste.

If he's not showing any discomfort, I wouldn't worry just yet. If he does become uncomfortable or struggles to poo then you can massage his tummy in clockwise circles, or bicycle his legs while he's lying on his back.

Thanks. He doesn't seem particularly bothered and now I won't be either!
