when do you stop burping your baby after feeding? when can they start burping easily themselves?

I stopped about three months because DD would naturally sit up straight. But then she was never really a windy baby anyway. Well on the other end but not at the top

Burping is a cultural thing. Plenty of places in the world don't bother. Some babies seem to need a bit of patting and rubbing after feeds, I suppose, but most are capable of bringing up any residual air themselves without all the palaver....from birth

I only really do it when DS wants to change sides.
Sometimes if I wind him he'll take another breast from me, kind of like when I burp when eating chinese and suddenly aren't as full I suppose.
