nipple twiddling

Please someone tell me this is just a phase. DS and I co-sleep and until now this has been a great arrangement. I've been able to sleep while he helps himself to boob and he's happy. Problem is the last few night he's taken to bobbing on and off boob every few minutes and when he's not latched on he twiddles my nipple which gets VERY sore. If I cover up the boob he gets really angry. Any suggestions?

oooo I know how you feel. my DD2 has become obsessed with nipples since I stopped breastfeeding at 12months and shoves her hand down my top at every opportunity, squirreling away in attempt to a) locate nipple and b) twiddle it. Is hugely irritating bless her and she is not beyond hauling a nipple into daylight in public whilst I am chatting to a friend.. I have no solutions really, wear a tricky top, tight sports bra?? Wet suit? I'm sure it is a phase. At one point I actually considered creating some sort of fake cleavage from a hot water bottle she could stick her hand in to help her go to sleep. May be there is a market there?

Get a taggie or something else and encourage him to hold it when he's nursing. The let him hold it while he sleeps. Buy at least three of whatever it is, because they get chewed!

it is apparently a natural thing to speed the let down. i absolutely have always loathed it and ds knows that. has never stopped him trying though.

cathpot, you're describing my dd to to a t. she's almost 3 & i stopped b-feeding when she was 18 months. you'd think she'd have got over it by now . we also co-sleep & she likes to twiddle them when she sleeps. drives me DEMENTED. this too shall pass....
