Our 9wk old newborn has had some issues with keeping milk down and with the doctor it's been put down to reflux. Showing no signs that lean into colic or CMPA but have been prescribed some thickener to add to her milk to help reduce what may come back up. She has been prescribed nutilis clear thickener, a 1.25g scoop to be added to every 200ml.
Firstly - when I've googled this product it advised that it's not suitable for under 3's so I will follow my instinct and ask our GP to confirm we are deffo all good to use. Anyone used this before and know anything at all?
Secondly - with her only being on 5oz bottles, making this up means we either have 2oz of waste of some very complicated maths in terms of making feeds ahead. Anyone got any tips? Id rather make up a feed at a time but it just feels like we will be running through it.
Really just looking for advice and tips on how you navigated thickeners more generally - I am thinking it might be worth considering going onto anti reflux formula instead. Please Mumsnet share with me your wisdom!
