How did you choose your formula?

I have been using Cow and Gate as that is what they had at the hospital. I have never used another brand (twins are now 15 weeks old) - though they had large amount of EBM during first 12 weeks - so they have not been exclusively C & G fed.

What is difference between the brands? Aptimel is a quid a can more expensive - any idea why?

Aptamil is more expensive because they want you to think it's 'better'

all the brands are perfectly adequate - none of the added things they brag about (immunofortis, fish oil etc) have been proved to be of any benefit.

To be fair, I would agree that one formula is no better than another but you may find that your child finds one agrees with them more.

We gave DS SMA as he had reflux and needed their 'staydown' formula. Started DD on SMA but she got very constipated so we switched to Aptamil and the change was really noticeable.

If your DT's are happy on C&G there's no reason to change.

agree with mrsb. aptamil and c&g are made by the same parent company. they are simply targetting a slightly different demographic of feeders so their prices reflect this.

i was shopping yesterday and noticed that farleys and hipp organic were virtually = in prices: both tie for cheapest.
