Is there a difference between Ready to Feed and Powder

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this… We use the same brand of formula at home (powder), but when we’re out we use the ready-to-feed bottles for convenience. (Kendamil)

It feels like every time we end up using a few more RTF bottles than usual (e.g. if we’ve had a day out), my little one seems much more unsettled afterwards and does some really awful poos. She’s generally gassy anyway but hoping she grows out of it rather than chop and change her formula.

Surely it can’t be the same as switching between different brands of formula (which they say you shouldn’t do as it upsets their tummy), as it’s still technically the same brand and milk? But I’m starting to wonder if there’s something different in the make-up of RTF vs powder that might upset her tummy.

Has anyone else noticed this or had a similar experience?

There are slight differences in the ingredients, different oils used and the ready to feed will have emulsifiers.

Agree, also there’s no problem with swapping formulas. If she’s gassy and unsettled on Kendamil have you tried any others? It might be worth swapping brands and if that doesn’t work, you could try a comfort type of formula.
