MAM bottles incorrect measurements

Has anyone else ever had a problem with MAM anti colic bottles not having accurate measurements/inconsistencies???

I’ve seen a thing today about how when making formula to measure in mls rather than oz as formula should be 1 scoop per 30ml rather than 1 scoop per ounce as they aren’t the same.
So tonight I’ve been checking my bottles and my partner has poured 120ml into one bottle and then when he poured that into one of the others it measured at 130mls. I’ve then poured the same water into a jug to check that and it measured at just under 150mls. I’m going to contact MAM tomorrow as they are clearly defective and i can’t get the water to formula ratio right if the measurements on the bottles aren’t correct….

There will be more error from the variation in the packing density of the scoops of formula, and from eyeballing the level of the liquid, than from the liquid volume measure drawn on the size of the bottle.

However, if your anxiety about feeding is so bad, weigh in both the formula and the water. The weight of the scoop size required will be on the formula tub, and 1ml of water weighs one gram.

But for goodness sake trust your baby, and look up baby paced feeding - they'll cry a bit sooner for a feed if you did accidently make it a bit dilute, and come to no great harm. I definitely miscounted scoops on some days!

Thank you for this, we have been paced feeding since about day 5 as he was guzzling it down like he’d never been fed. Doesn’t seem to have made much different for his tummy troubles so wondering if the inconsistency with the bottles and measurements is the cause of this❤️
