BF and periods

Despite only BF for 9 weeks my period made an appearance for the first time today. I'd been warned to expect a flood but it is barely there. Is this because I'm BF? When do they kick in properly if you continue to exclusively BF?

Mine did not come back until DS was nine months old, once I dropped feeds down to night time only they came back.

They can come back at any time, in any strength, there is no 'normal', but it's likely lighter because you're BFing yes.

How's it going anyway?? Getting any better?

Oh, VS...I had 4 1/2 hours sleep last night and am on top of the world as a result. It's like a holiday. Fingers crossed for tonight! Haven't given up on the breastfeeding yet. Have decided to take it one day at a time.
