how can I encourage calm feeding?

Dd is nearly 4 weeks old and gets so guzzly and screechy while feeding. I'm convinced it's why she then gets hiccoughs and really windy. Wondered if I should swaddle her for feeds, maybe that would help her have a calm feed? Any other ideas welcome

sounds hungry! i used to sort of croon at my dd and sit somewhere quiet but then perhaps too successful as she would fall asleep. you could wrap her up in a blanket a bit even if you don't want to try a full swaddle.

my ds did exactly this. feed leaning back on something then the milk won't flow so fast into her mouth. Also go to a breast feeding workshop if there is one near you, they improved my latch by just a couple of mm and it was brill. would avoid the swaddle as they get hot next to you and sometimes fuss and pull back to cool down a bit

she does pull back a lot too. I did wonder if the milk was flowing too fast for her. She goes from fast asleep to totally starving in seconds too
