Milk regulating or low supply?

I’m really confused with breastfeeding. I’m 9 weeks in. Tonight my breasts feel soft. They have always felt hard and full. I have only really felt soft breasts either in the late evenings or once a few weeks ago in the afternoon but the next day they were back to being mostly full/engorged.

A few days ago my baby did start taking a bit less with the warm weather, so I wonder if my supply has dipped? Or if it’s regulating? It just feels odd having soft breasts at this time when I know milk is at the highest.

Soft breasts are healthy breasts. This sounds normal, your body is adjusting to produce what's needed. As long as your little one is peeing and pooing as normal you can be confident in your supply.

@CelticPromise thankyou, I just used the cues of them being hard means I have lots of milk, and them being soft means they are empty like after a feed or low on milk flow like in the evening. That makes sense though.

Supply regulating. I posted on here around 11 or 12 weeks with the same question. I can report my supply was fine and I'm still breastfeeding at 10 months! It's really nice not having hard lumpy leaky breasts 😀

Feed on demand, and you won't have any issues. There's a few feeding crises coming up, especially when teething. They seem to reject the boob or want it less for a few days, and you'll worry a lot, but it will be totally fine.
