I'm not sure if i'm pregnant or not, I'm on the contraceptive injection but know this isn't 100% effective.

I don't want to waste £10 on a test if i'm not. Basically i've been having occationally crampy feelings over the past month/ 6 weeks and i'm not losing any weight even though i'm really trying to not eat my usual junk breastfeeding fuel. I also have awful insomnia. I Haven't had sore boobs or a missed period (as i'm not currently getting them) these were signs of my first pregnancy.

If you concieved whilst breastfeeding did you get sore breasts?

If you weren't having periods how did you know you were pregnant, what were the signs for you?

TIA

Firstly, not losing weight is definitely a sign of early pregnancy.

I had really sore boobs, really sore. Looking back, that was almost immediatly for me, of course at the time I didn't realise the cause of it. I also went off certain foods, again really really early on. had terrible trouble sleeping. All the things I was then able to put down to being pg, once I knew, I had felt from probably the first week of conception, as they continued for quite some weeks. ( 12or more) I also had been getting waves of nausea, which i was putting down to a change of my usual painkillers at the time!

I wasn't having periods, as i was on a pill which was taken back to back and had really scant, irregular 'periods' if you could call them that. so missing the first one was no sign for me.

I guess the only real way is to test lovely! Honestly, you will put your mind at rest either way, what ever you want the outcome to be. I rememer saying to my DH that I was going to test just to rule it out, his immediate response was, you don't need to, I know you are pg. I told him he was being ridiculous, and he et me £5! well, the result is currently standing in her cot shouting with her lovely funny 16month old voice, and chucking books out!!

good luck

thankyou SSB. It would be lovely if i possibly am pregnant. Also mean i'm a super fertile freak of nature. First falling pregnant on the pill then possibly on the injection....sheesh... good thing i love babies!

But ds is only still 6m and i really wasn't planning to have two under two. The plan was to start trying for number two around Christmas. I do feel pregnant (i think). I've had other signs like heart burn and frequent weeing a couple of moths ago (although that turned out to be a urine infection but i did test on that occation) sorry if that was too much info . I don't know, i guess i'll test or it'll be another two months down the line and i'll have a bump and still be in denile!

I just wanted to know about the breastfeeding and tender breats thing as this was a very vivid memory of early pregnancy for me.

For me it was suddenly feeling really nauseous, unable to eat properly and throwing up. But by that time the first two months had already passed.

Strange question to ask a virtual stranger, but do you have a damp ladygarden? That was my other big sign (along with sore boobs).

LittleMissBliss · 23/05/2008 14:00

No discharge. Still haven't tested, may just wait a week and re-asses the situation. Maybe i just ahve an over active imagination.

Can you even have the contraceptive injection whilst bf? I thought not.

Anyway, I was already late and tested so I knew I was pregnant (novel idea round here I know ), but feeding dd became absolute agony. Only my nipples were sore, but very much so.

LittleMissBliss · 23/05/2008 15:44

Yes you can (although i have come accross a few people who don't think so) The dr. suggested it at the 8 week check. When i actually went to have the injection the nurse questioned it, asked another Dr. who said that it was safe to have whilst breastfeeding.

I had really tender/sore nipples. But DD1 was 2 by then, and the witch had been back about 6 months, but the sore nips and nausea started before the witch was even due!

I hope your HPT tells you what you want it to! (your local family planning clinic will do the test for free)

I conceived while BFing - boobs were absolute agony (still are at 9 weeks, I grit my teeth when ds latches on), ds also started feeding much more than normal.
