Hi
Hoping you can help. DS is nearly 8 weeks and bfing going v well. He has a bit of a cold though not too bad, just a snuffly nose.
Last couple of nappies his poo has been sticky and orange like marmalade.
Is this just the cold?
(he has infacol before most feeds to keep the colic at bay)
TIA

when mine have a cold their poo does change (usually moss green lumps!) which i'm tolf is mostly down to excreting dead virus. i.e all is as it should be.

A baby's bum is an amazing thing and can produce the most amazing stuff. IME it is totally normal for BF poo to be anything from paneer saag to korma to a substance that could probably used to keep the tiles on the underside of the space shuttle! Plenty more variety will be coming your way! I only worry if nappies are dry. HTH.

I saw a few marmalade nappies in the first few months, always when dd had a cold. So I would guess nothing to worry about.

Hello - sorry to hijack, but didn't want to start a new thread as this is a similar question to mine.

My exclusively breastfed 5.5month son has started to do smelly poos.

He's feeding fine, and they're the normal colour. He's also doing plenty of wet nappies.

Could this also be due to a cold leaving his system as MerryBerry says?

He had a runny nose on Friday and was very snotty. He now seems to be over this, and could this just be the bacteria leaving his gut?

Any suggestions welcome,

BunnyBaby
