Breast feeding - periods started!

Is this normal?

DS2 is 5.5 months and up until 2 weeks ago he was exclsivly BF. Started weaning two weeks ago but taking it slowly and as yet he hasn't dropped a feed, however i started bleeding this morning.

With DS1 my periods didn't start until a couple of weeks after to stopped BF'ing altogether.

Quite normal, esp if you are weaning; you may not have dropped a feed, but the baby is maybe taking less at each feed than when exclusively bf. It has been known for AF to return even when mother is exclusively bf.

Normal - mine came back at 6 weeks (and I wasn't weaning ), I am still BFing her at 20m.

I'm down to 2 feeds a day and I had a strange bit of spotting the other day which I assume heralds the return of my periods. DS is 8.5 mo so I've enjoyed a blissful 18 months of not having to shell out for tampons and remembering to take them everywhere with me. Forgot how blooming annoying it all is!

Still, can at least start thinking about #2 hehehe!
