I really hope to breast feed & also pump to allow bottle feeding. Won’t have too long on mat leave so it is really important that baby is comfortable with taking a bottle. Can I please get all your tips for this? And what will I need?

Hi there,
I don’t have to much to offer here, my baby is now 12 months EBF. She will take like 1 ounce out of a bottle and nothing more!
Every midwife and health visitor told me not to introduce a bottle to soon (younger than 3 months) due to nipple confusion and baby will want the bottle as it’s easier to get milk from, with boob they have to work for it.
Anyway - if I were to have another I would scrap that because baby simply refused a bottle by the time I offered it at 4 months and I have done every night feed and day feed by boob for 12 months.
Offer the bottle sooner so they are used to it in my personal experience :)
Same with a dummy x

When baby has bottle you need to pump to keep your milk supply up x

Dont pump to soon also I ended up with a huge oversupply of milk pumping after 2 weeks! My boobs were so so sore. I’d give it a good 4-6 weeks of EBF with no pumping to establish breastfeeding and regulate your milk supply :) x
