is there really any need to keep using formula after age one or is cow's milk sufficient?

not according to the maufacturers - i know

I bf dd from birth to just now (finished about 4 days ago). She is almost 14 months. I mixed fed (formula/bf) from about 6 ish months. She happily drinks cow's milk, I have found. Is there any need to give her formula or is cow's milk nutritious enough?

Thanks

No need whatsoever. It's just a con to get more money out of you.

I think the only issue is that you might need the added vits if your child is a bad eater, but even then...

full fat cows milk is perfectly fine from the age of 1. Both mine went onto it soon after their 1st birthdays. DS had even had a few drinks of it before he was 1 - bad mummy!!

No

Yes

Honestly, it's a gimmick from the manufacturers to persuade you to spend more of your hard-earned cash on DD.

If your child has a restricted diet I suppose formula might be needed but otherwise - No

thank you.

she sometimes eats great, then the next hardly anything. I kind of thought I should give her the formula for the extra vits, but would rather not if it's not at all necessary.

DD2 has been on cow's milk since 11 months and no signs of madness detected three months in..

Cows' milk is fine. I found ready made packs of formula quite useful though for when we were out and about.

unfortunately cant get those ready made packs here/ going away for a couple of nights next week and could do with a few!

I just wanted to say what beautiful red hair your DD1 has. She is absolutely gorgeous (I have a thing about lovely red hair, can you tell?). Your DD2 is gorgeous too, of course.

aw, thank you

Cows milk is fine. UHT milk is good for emergencies. I would much rather my DD had fresh milk than dried.
