Hi,
My 11 week olds poos have been off since last Saturday. She's going a lot less and having very smelly farts then suddenly a loose, smelly poo every couple of days.
I've not changed my diet and she's not changed temperament although I have noticed a tingle on my nipple after feeding. Small flecks of blood in two of the poos.
She's ebf.
Attached is picture of poo, smell is fishy-ish.
Any ideas lovely mumsnetters?

The colour and consistency is what I always had with my breastfed babies, but no answer for the fishy smell.

The smelly fart and loose stools with my babies tended to coincide with a tummy bug (one is in this situation right now)!

Thanks @Springadorable I did think the colour was ok, just the smell!! I have another daughter who I breastfed for two years and I never remember her poos/farts smelling until solids. I'll try not to worry and just keep an eye.
Thanks also @WhiteRose222 my other daughter and husband had a tummy bug around a month ago- which me and babe didn't get, but it's still going around our small town so maybe we are having some delayed form or something. I'll keep an eye out

My dc2 had blood in poo between 3-6 months. It was so worrying, I went to GP, I took pics of every poo (I have a couple that look just like yours and some that have a lot more blood in). I was ebf. Never got to the bottom of it (no pun intended) and it eventually went away

My first born poohed several times a day and his poohs and farts never smelt. Three month old sometimes doesn’t go for a few days and his farts and Pooh’s are a bit smellier.
the blood is the only thing I would worry about.

TISagoodday · 25/04/2025 21:04

Thanks @Darkambergingerlily @Babyenroute yes there was only a couple of specks of blood in both nappies and I've put it down to straining to go. Anymore poo with blood over the weekend and I'll phone health visitor on Monday I think, just incase. She's absolutely fine in herself though which is reassuring and also messages on here.
