but i want to soon - haven't been out much yet! i'm thinking of pre-preparing some good replies just in case of annoying comments (but i hope they won't be needed). if some one did say something i'd be so cross i might just splutter and that would look like i was embarrassed when i wasn't iyswim. what do you think of 'oh, i'm sorry you find it embarrassing' and then carrying on?

That sounds fine, or just a simple "I'm feeding my baby"
Don't expect comments though - I've only ever had smiles and nice comments.

i'm not really expecting comments. had a really odd dream last night where i had a one woman campaign to 'make bf normal' and i went round feeding in the most public places i could think of - and no one noticed! think i was still angry about the awfull matthew wright prog (which i didn't even see)and awful posters mentioned on another thread.

I tended to get smiles and a few embarrassed looks, never got any comments.

Fillyjonk · 17/05/2008 12:13

I have now been bfing for the best part of 5 years (3 kids, though not all at once...)

I have NEVER had ANY comments, EVER

And I am not especially discreet, much as I'd like to be

good luck, but honestly, it will be FINE

I've never had comments. Most people don't notice you're doing it. Was still a bit nervous the first time I did though!

BumperliciousNeedsToSleep · 17/05/2008 13:31

I have been doing it for 10 months and have never had a negative comment ever, in fact I have had some lovely comments, especially from older ladies, and I get lots of smiles too

You just have to get in the mindset that you are entitled to do it. I don't think you'll need any replies, but I'm the same though, I always think that I would never be articulate enough in the moment to defend myself. A simple "cock off" will do
