Can you give comfort milk for every feed?

baby girl 6 weeks old, was on aptimal ready made until week 5 then started aptimal formula and for the week she was constipated going once a day really struggling then for 48 hours she was pooing after every feed they seemed watery her stomach gurgling very uncomfy - my first daughter has CMPA so I’m very anxious this is the same thing happening, doctor said these aren’t cmpa allergy symptoms to try comfort milk, I’ve read that SMA comfort has less protein in so I’ve given this ago and she’s doing well the last 48 hours she’s pooed once but it’s been like a paste, I’m wondering do you give this for every feed as it’s ‘special’ milk?

It’s absolutely fine to give at every feed.

I’m bit surprised by the GPs comments though. She may not have IGE symptoms but they do sound as though they may be non-IGE symptoms of CMPA.

Allergy UK explain it quite well in this article Flowers

Cow’s Milk Allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is an abnormal response by the body’s immune system in which proteins in a food are recognised as a potential threat.

the GP did check her over and because she was sleeping in her car seat she said that she doesn’t seem uncomfortable and I got her to check her face as she had a bit of baby acne I was unsure if this was another symptom of cpma she said no it’s definitely baby acne
from what I just read on the link that she could be having a delayed reaction, GP said babies cry when they’re going to the toilet as they dont like the sensation as well- I’m really hoping this comfort milk will help her as she has been sleeping well and less fidgety although the grunting/gurgling noises are still there. How long roughly does it take to get used to milk?
my first daughter with CMPA I noticed a difference in 24 hours once her milk was changed
