DS is a bloater: When will he space his feeds?

DS is 17wks and on the 75thC for height and weight. He sleeps very well at night (7pm to 7am with 1 feed at 3am), but stuffs his face every 2 hours during the day. It's doing my head in a wee bit, but chuffed to bits nevertheless that my milk is keeping him in the porker club.

Will he keep doing this until he strats on solids?

He's not that huge, highlander!! One on every four babies is bigger than him Babies who sleep well at night like him often do need to stoke up on their calories in the day. It won't last forever - though he may still need little snacks when he gets older, but your breasts won't need to provide them when he's on solids. Most adults probably have something to eat or drink every 2 hours or so, anyway!

ah tiktok, how did I know you were going to say that?!
cheers!

Highlander, ds is just over 91st centile for h and w at 18 wks. He eats all the time too, so can sympathise! I am loving it though and so proud of my boobs! He is definitely VERY interested in food though - grabs my spoon, dd's cup, gets annoyed when dd given food etc. He's always fed throughout the night anyway so am going to try and get to six months before giving solids.
Your ds's feeding pattern sounds great! DS is such a snacker - never has a feed of both boobs except the 6pm one.

Good point tiktok! Always remember hearing a b/f counsellor saying something similar to a woman who was fretting about trying to space her b/feeds at 4 hour intervals.
She just looked at her quizzically and said 'Well, do you go 4 hours without even a drink?'
Never forgotten that (partic. today as ds is unwell and despite being 26 weeks has hardly eaten anything, just sucked and sucked and sacked.
I shall wake up tomorrow with a chest like a shelf!)

Sounds like you are doing a fantastic job with your ds, highlander!

shucks I am doing a good job, aren't I!!

crikey, Dinny your boobs must be even bigger than mine!!

Oh, is that relevant as to how big boobs are? How often they feed/how big the baby is? Cos my boobs are HUGE and I used to be TINY.

well, I used to be a C and now I'm an E! When I get up in the mornings they are like footballs, although the decrease a bit by the evening. It's really uncomfortable in bed at night.

used to be a B and now I'm a DD . Mine are never full now (unless forget to switch sides during night) - ds latched on in bed all night.
