Can I store breast milk in sippy cups to leave for LO when I’m away?

when I return to work, I will need to leave approx 2 milk feeds for his dad to feed him. I am thinking about skipping bottles as we have never done them and using sippy cup straight away.

can I leave expressed milk in a sippy cup with the lid on in the fridge? Just wondering if this is a safe way to store it and for how long?

thank you mamas

Yes that's absolutely fine, even at room temperature breast milk is safe for hours, far longer than formula.

Midwife here. I would sterilise the cups to be safe, however, yes, absolutely, leave breastmilk in sippy cups. Breastmilk can stay in the fridge for up to 6 days as it has antimicrobial properties. I would cover the cups with the clingfilm to be on the safe side.
