How to transition from breastfeeding to formula?

My baby is 8 months old and has been exclusively breastfed. Although I would like to continue, it has not been an easy decision to make that hypoallergenic formula is the best choice for everyone. She has several allergies (around 10 identified so far). It is really restricting my diet to the point I am losing a lot of weight and she is always unwell. I want to transition from breastfeeding to formula but it has been tricky so far. I am pumping to get her used to drinking from a bottle and then I thought I might start mixing formula with it. Increasing the formula and gradually reducing breastmilk. The problem is that she co-sleeps and so is drinking my milk all night. When she wakes up I can't offer her expressed milk because she has a full stomach. She has breakfast and lunch. She also naps while latched on so she will take a dream feed. I never get the chance to give her expressed milk in a bottle. Whenever I offer it she just plays with the bottle nipple. I don't know how to go about it. Do I need to teach her to sleep without the breast first? Because I would not want to sleep train while she is hysterically crying, especially because her stomach is upset at the moment from testing an allergen. Does anyone have any tips

If her stomach is upset from testing an allergen I would leave it a clear two weeks before trying anything new. It sounds extremely difficult for all of you.

Are you under a Paediatric Dietician and the Allergy Clinic?
