Should I introduce a bottle or go straight to cup?

please could I have some advice about combination breast/bottle feeding from anyone with experience?

my baby is 6 months old now and weaning is going well. I have been meaning to try introduce a bottle of expressed breast milk for months but just not got around to it. Is it too late to try now and should I go straight to cup? Or is it worth a go?

I’d personally go with a cup as really bottles should begin to be phased out by 12mo and it seems like a waste to buy them! However, if you want to do bottles there’s no harm in that either. Maybe practice with water first if it’s a cup, I seem to remember it being quite messy at first!

Thanks @yogpot, bottles do seem a faff if we can avoid them. I’m wondering if having a bottle would help her settle better when I’m not there, at the moment she is a total boob monster but will settle with cuddles from dh occasionally. I have a very rare night out planned in 3 months and want to be able to leave her with as little stress as possible!

I'd go for a cup, it goes with the weaning nicely. That's what we did.

I think it's very baby dependent. Two of mine went straight to a cup but the other two wouldn't drink milk from a cup, it took a lot of buying bottles to get them to drink expressed milk.
