Formula not suiting?

Hi FTM here!
at a bit of a loss here, how do I know if formula isn’t suiting my LO anymore? He’s 6 weeks old and been on kendamil since he was born, however lately he’s really fussy while having a bottle, won’t finish it but is still hungry, very gassy, only has one poo a day - maybe every other day, spits up after most feeds and is just generally unsettled. He was fine the last couple of weeks but lately it just seems different! He’s a colicky baby and is naturally gassy but it seems so much worse, even when using infacol/dentinox!
any help or advice would be much appreciated as I know something isn’t right but I just don’t know what to do!

Sounds like my little one, a mix of colic and reflux. I found using a premade bottle every now and then helped him go to the toilet as the milk was really thin.

With my first born, she just refused milk completely, we tried swapping the formula, then sizing up the teats and finally swapping bottle brand. It was just a job or trial and error unfortunately.

Try a pre made bottle and sizing up the teat to a faster flowing one to see how your little one copes. Most formulas are very similar due to UK laws (sorry if I’m just assuming you’re in uk) so swapping to a new formula can be done fairly easily. I found my little one quite liked cow and gate and then the cow and gate aldi/ lidl alternative.

I have tried pre-made bottles and it’s not as bad but still gassy/fussy. He’s on size 1 teats tommee tippee bottles and I do have size 2 teats already, but I didn’t think I could use them until he was 3 months+?

My health visitor said to go with my babies needs and that they were just advised.
Have you spoken to your health visitor to see what advice they can give?

No, I haven’t seen my health visitor since he was about 1/2 weeks old! She told me my set health visitor would contact me for a visit and I haven’t heard anything since. That’s why I feel like I’m struggling so much because I haven’t got anyone really to turn to - I ask my mom and my MIL, but sometimes it’s outdated advice and I’m not sure what to follow/do.

Contact your local health community centre or your gp to get a number for your local health visitors. Explain that you’d like some advice and someone should get back to your fairly quickly. I had a 6 week check in with them just to see how my little one was growing and how we were getting on.
