Started pumping 5 months PP - nothing coming out?

im going back to work soon so anticipating needing to pump. My baby has been EBF from the breast only until now

i have tried pumping between a feed today and got a few drops

how do I increase my supply for pumping?

Feeding requires an enotional response. Try looking at photos of your baby and sniffing his clothes while pumping.

I only really got a good feed out if there had been a long gap after feeding, so I'd pump in the morning or in the night if it had been a few hours. At work I pump early afternoon and get a bottle out which can be used the next day but again it's been hours since the last feed at that point!

What kind of pump are you using? Brand/model?

There some evidence that if you can't see how much is coming out you produce more. Pumping into a bottle and covering it with a baby's sock seemed to have good results.

@NaturWilde the brand is kissbobo from Amazon - probably not the best but when I was 0-3 weeks postpartum it would produce so much. I suppose my milk was out of control back then haha

I'm in the same boat. A few things:

1. make sure you have the right flange size. I had to buy smaller ones for all my pumps.
2. pump in the morning, not later in the day
3. try different pumps. Different women get along better with different pumps.

If it’s the first time for a while then your breasts need to get used to the action of the pump instead of the baby. Stick at it! Indexing the comments on doing it in the morning and scroll pics of your baby on your phone!

Can you get hold of a Spectra? It’s the only thing that worked on me with my third. Previous DC other cheap medela pumps worked but ultimately nothing works like a hospital grade one (which the spectra is). Of rent a hospital grade medela. Worth every penny!
