dp is so desperate to feed ds3 that he is bordering on being unsupportive of me bf him

Decided that now he is 8 weeks and feeding well that dp could give him his 7/8/9 o clock feed as ebm and i will express then. So...
DS3 had his first bottle fo expressed milk last night but refused it! In a way i am glad, as that means he likes me feeding him

HV suggested feeding from a cup and he will lap it like a cat...how do i do that then?(well, DP not me)

Hmmmmm that sounds a bit early. DD would not use a bottle but she did use a spoon from about 5-6 weeks. I recall trying a cup but it was very difficult and DD got frustrated. Their instinct is not to lap like a cat.
Personally if you are bf and it is working then I would not be trying to confuse DS3. Ask a HV for advise...and let DP know there will be plenty of time to feed in the future.

Good luck!

Sorry you said that! Pregnant brain! I went through sort of similar but not really - my DD would not take a bottle but sometimes I had to go out and needed DH to feed her. She just would not take a cup, but would take a spoon. This went on for 8 months!!! Good luck!

my two prem boys were cup fed from birth. I used to used to use the top from a babies bottle or a doidy cup which is slopey.

Put a couple of bibs on when you do it because it is messy and hold the baby slightly forward supporting the head

It is slow but well worth it

if its messy it won't be me feeding it will be DP
