I have noticed that my baby (7 weeks old) doesn't nap for as long as they apparently should during the day and I'm wondering if it's because they're not feeding for long enough.
During the day they'll nap for an hour, wake up, need a change, feed, showing signs they don't want anymore, do a little activity with them, possibly feed again for a short time (hour to and hour and a half would have gone by) cuddle and soothe to go to sleep, but wake up and hour later and the whole cycle starts up again.
I've been reading they should be sleeping for longer during the day and I can't figure out why they're getting up after just an hour. I don't know if they're over tired or not getting enough from feeding beforehand or am I not interacting with them long enough?
At night I have no issues, they go down for between 3.5 to 5.5 hours at a time, get up, change nappy, feed for a short time, be burped and go right back to sleep and stay asleep for another 3.5 to 5.5 hours etc.
I guess I've been seeing so many couples with babies who are the same age who happily sleep for long stretches during the day and are able to go out and about without their baby needing them because they're happily asleep for longer than an hour.
Just very confused about this and unsure if it's something I'm doing wrong.
