Hi guys. Looking for some mum advice for a FTM. My little girl is 6 weeks old. The last couple of weeks she’s been very difficult to wind especially at the end of her bottle. She does get it up Eventually but this comes with every manoeuvre in the book and agitation and crying from her side! I was thinking of trying her with infacol? What’s everyone’s advice. I have gripe water but have been scared of trying her as too many horror story’s

My daughter is 9 months now and we used infacol when she was a similar age and it really helped us. It basically helps bring all of the wind together so they get one big burp up, worked amazingly for us x

TinyMouseTheatre · 15/01/2025 21:06

Have you tried Dentinox in the bottle instead of Infacol?

Negangirlxx · 15/01/2025 21:29

Infacol blocked our baby up, and made her pain a lot worse. She’d go days without a poo. She would also scream for hours at night. Gripe water she spat out, as she clearly didn’t like it. We ended up switching to Mam bottles, and moved her on to the special Comfort formula for Colic and Constipation, and she’s much better. We also tried slower flow teats. Every baby is different though, so what works for some might not work for others. But the Comfort food was recommended to us by a family friend, and so far it’s the best thing we have tried for her. She is 11 weeks old now, and doing much better.

I swore by Infacol with my little girl. A life saver!

Matildahoney · 15/01/2025 21:31

Infacol was useless for us, we swore by gripe water.

Rosybud88 · 15/01/2025 21:32

We didn’t get on with infacol but dentinox is amazing! It’s only about £3 as well so I’d suggest trying this first.

WhamBamThankU · 15/01/2025 21:32

When I had my first child 17 years ago advice was to give cooled boiled water for wind. Or try bicycle legs? Videos on YouTube

LostMySocks · 15/01/2025 21:33

Infacol was amazing with my 2.
Can still remember the smell.

SMC93 · 16/01/2025 12:27

Thanks everyone! I’ve started her on infacol see how it goes. No idea how long it takes but not much difference yet. It always seems to be the end of the bottle is the worst- I’m using MAM. This morning took 30 minutes for her last burp! I’m literally willing to try anything. I’m unsure if it’s the bottle or the feed (kendamil) I’ve mentioned this to health visitor but was just told keep doing what I’m doing ! 🥴

I used to have to do ridiculous gymnastics with DTs, lay them flat on my knees, stand up really slowly with them in that position, then raise them up and back down then sit them up and eventually would get a huge burp. Infacol didn't do anything for us

Michah89 · 16/01/2025 13:55

My baby is 2 weeks old I thought infacol was working then stopped so got man bottles for colic babies and that seem to work better than infacol

newtb · 16/01/2025 16:47

I used gripe water in an infacol bottle. I reckoned a pipette full was about a teaspoon. I can remember that first tremendous burp!

Soubriquet · 16/01/2025 16:50

Infacol worked wonders with dd. Dentinox worked for ds when infacol didn’t

TinyMouseTheatre · 16/01/2025 18:10

Ah I was going to ask if it was Kendamil, there are so many threads where babies are struggling with it.

If the Infacol doesn't do the trick I'd try swapping to a different formula, but not Aptimal.

Michah89 · 21/01/2025 11:54

I am having this problem now my baby is 3weeks old and not sleeping on a night cos he's on pain 😕

Autumn1990 · 21/01/2025 11:58

I found gripe water better than infacol but both helped

RabbitsEatPancakes · 21/01/2025 11:59

Lots of people rate infacol buy I think there was a study released that basically proved it does nothing and same as a placebo.

SMC93 · 21/01/2025 12:56

Just updating as I see some people are in the same situation as me- tried infacol and didn’t find it much good. Moved onto gripe water and this is far better- don’t use it all the time just when she’s really struggling. Thanks everyone for all your advice ❤️ x

I am trying new milk see if that helps as he's only 3weeks old so can't use gripe water yet

TinyMouseTheatre · 21/01/2025 18:03

@Michah89 which milk are you using now?

Michah89 · 22/01/2025 15:35

Aptamil

Negangirlxx · 22/01/2025 18:22

Michah89 · 22/01/2025 15:35

Aptamil

We had to stop using Aptamil as it was making the colic worse. We swapped to Cow and Gate, and it got a little bit better, but since we moved to the Cow and Gate Comfort, she’s like a new baby!

Soontobemumof2kids · 22/01/2025 18:28

Can I please ask what the horror stories are you have heard about gripe water? I just bought it today for my 4 week old who I struggling with wind
