High calorie formula?

My dd (9 weeks 5 days) was born 10 days early but at a whopping 5lbs3oz she dropped down to 5lbs from birthweight, she is ebf, has gained weight and is now standing at 7lbs4oz she went in for a review at hospital to check her weight etc and although she is growing she’s on her own trajectory which is sitting a little lower than the 5th centile, the doctor advised that they may want to prescribe her some high calorie formula to supplement some of her feeds, has anyone got any advice on the formula? Did it help baby etc? She is quite a mardy baby she always seems hungry and this far down the line I am still constantly feeding her I rarely get a break from feeding so I’m open to the formula suggestion just to get a little reprise but want some insight into what it’s like.

she may not like the formula to get mine to drink formula i first had to get her used to drinking expressed milk from a bottle. Then i could add small amounts of formula to the breastmilk ,let her get used to it.Then after a few days add a little more formula and a little less breast.Over time slowly introducing formula

This is a great suggestion as I’ve been ebf’ing it not even introduced a dummy to her so the idea of her just taking formula from a bottle is probably way off, I’ll invest in a good pump and a few different bottles to see where we stand before the next hospital check up in four weeks so then at least if she is prescribed it she’ll be used to a bottle for starters. And if they don’t prescribe it maybe I can relegate a couple expressed feeds to my partner so I can catch a break 😅

i have used tommee tippee with all of my babys ,i find you keep having to offer the same bottle and if your juggling.Trying not to offer to many pumped feeds or they get confused between breast and bottle.

I dont use tommee tippee pumping equipment i used a branded electric sterilizer once and it was crap.I use avent for pumping ,i pump one side for 30mins then switch sides ,i use with this in link.I use unscented washing up liquid to wash bottles ,if they smell the milk picks up a taste. They end up rejecting it if it picks up any strange odors

good luck its so nice when my other half takes him for a few hours when i have not slept in weeks .Unfortunately our latest baby our third has reflux so throws up feeds rip
