Defrosted expressed milk - how long does it keep?

Okay, so tonight DH & I defrosted 2 bottles of expressed milk to feed DS thinking he was more hungry than he actually was. How long will the 2nd defrosted bottle keep? Would it be okay to use later tonight or should we just toss it now? One book says toss after @ 1/2 hour which seems excessive since it took DS longer to feed off the 1st bottle. Any advice appreciated.

Storing human Milk by LLL says:

"Previously throzen milk that has been thawed can be kept in the fridge for up to 24 hours"

Hope this helps

If defrosted in the fridge it can be kept up to 24 hours, if thawed in hot water it needs to be used immediately...
