Bigger teats

Hi everyone. My LO is 5 months and I've only just introduced him to a size 3 MAM. He sounds and looks like he's being waterboarded! But 2 is too slow. Any recommendations to get him used to it? It's pouring from him and he's spitting it when drinking!

Size 3 sounds too big for his age.
We always stuck to size 1 as it's best for them to drink slowly and take breaks rather than guzzle the milk. I think it's called paced bottle feeding.

Why do you think it's too slow? Is your baby getting frustrated?

There's absolutely no way he would be happy on a size 1 now. Size 2 was great but he's getting incredibly frustrated whilst drinking, crying and even falling asleep or chewing on it instead. According to MAM, size 3 is for 4+ months. I've been swapping out for size 2 mid way through because he's just covered in it without the use of a Muslin. We pace feed him side lying and having the bottle horizontally and always have done, he's never coped well with sitting up or reclining to feed. But this still isn't helping with the increased teat. Even tried an X size as saw a video somewhere that their baby coped better but that's even worse 🫠
