We are from the Uk currently travelling around Thailand! Which formula to use?

Hi everyone,

We are from the UK and currently travelling around Thailand with our daughters. My youngest is 4 months old and has been mixed fed since birth. She mostly takes formula though. She has colic since 6 weeks old and silent reflux. We changed 4 milks and eventually ended up using Cow&Gate Comfort for Colic and Constipation.

We have got two more pots to last us another 2 weeks or so. I was just wondering what would be the equivalent for this milk in Thailand? Or obviously anything similar....

Also, do you think goat milk might be suitable for a baby with colic?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

thanks x

Try posting here https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/living_overseas there are MNetters in Thailand.
Do you mean goat milk formula? Not sure. One of my DC had terrible reflux, vomiting daily, a true miserable baby no matter what I did or ate , only me not having dairy seemed to help a bit.
Maybe use your travel insurance to visit a paediatrician and ask them for recommendations.

It depends on what's causing the symptoms. If she has CMPA then it's not advised to try milk from another mammal, excluding you of course Wink

@Cormoran thanks very much for your advice and for sharing this link. I will post on it now! My daughters vomiting was a lot worse when she was 3 and I think she is improving. However, I havent actually thought of cutting dairy frim my diet before...seems ill have to do that for a while and see how it goes.

thanks again! X

@TinyMouseTheatre the problem is that I dont produce enough milk unfortunately due to IGT so I had to give formula...maybe its not best to try another mammal milk though. Thanks for you advice! Really appreciate it x

Sorry OP it wasn't meant as a dog at all. It's just not advised to give Goat milk if they have or are suspected of having CMPA. I hope you're enjoying your trip Flowers
