When did your periods start again (when BFing)

I am currently BFing DS aged 10mo a couple of times a day. No sign of aunt flo.

I BFed DD until 8mo and my periods returned exactly 4 weeks later (i was just expressing once a day at the end for a bottle so producing very little).

Do you think it's likely that aunt flo won't visit until i completely stop BF again? It's just that we are wanting to try for a baby in a few months time, but i want to BF a bit longer. I also came off the mini-pill 3 weeks ago so waiting for that to wear off too.

Anyone find the same thing happened with DC1 and DC2 or could things be different this time?

DD was about 10 months and I was still breastfeeding 2-4 times a day.

DS was 13 months and was shortly after first time he'd reliably slept through for a few weeks. Took the shine off the joy of him sleeping through!

dd1 - 14 months

dd2 - 14 months

Think it was either they started walking and got less interested in milk during the day, or I was working more hours.

Still bfing dd2 (16 months)

DS bfed for 7 months, period started not long after, got preg the next month
DD period returned at 7 months, bfed for 15 months, got pregnant 1 month after stopping bfeeding.
Bit of a pattern there? DH will recommend BF no3 for many years,methinks!
I think I don't ovulate whilst Bfeeding. Could just be coincidence.

14 months, but DS fed ALOT and through the night, but still feeds ALOT and through the night, many, many, many months later.....

12 months, when i went back to work and cut down feeds to morning and before bed.

ds is 12m and I still don't have a period. Am stuck too, as would like to ttc but don't want to quit bfing just yet.

Umm no bloody idea, conceived before the first one, then miscarried and conceived a month later and am 27 weeks pregnant after that one - and DD is 18 months so I guess she was ten (?) months or so then.

DD1 at about 18 months.

Wow, thanks for all the responses. I can see some patterns for some people.

I guess i need to wait for the mini-pill to fully wear off, and then if i haven't ovulated within 2 months (when DS is 1) i might just have to stop BFing if we still want to TTC.
