Low milk supply, domperidone - low prolactin?

Hi all,

I am 10 weeks pp and unfortunately have had low milk supply from the get-go. I have worked with a fantastic lactation consultant and have tried every trick in the book from power pumping to supplements. The only thing that seems to increase my supply is taking domperidone (motilium) and I notice an almost instant drop in my supply when I stop taking it.

Because domperidone works by increasing prolactin levels, I am assuming that this might mean I have naturally low prolactin levels. I have booked a blood test to determine this,

Has anyone else had confirmed low prolactin associated with low milk supply? Has anything helped with this?

I also have unexplained infertility and could only conceive via IVF - could this be connected?

I've also struggled with consistent low libido for years 😔

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciate.

Thank you!

You should move this to breastfeeding. It shouldn’t be in infertility.
