Confused about stopping breastfeeding / weaning

My LO is 11 months and has loved food since day one of weaning. She’s been having 3 proper meals a day for awhile now eg today:

Porridge with nut butters and blueberries
Half a jacket potato with cream cheese, cucumber and grapes
Salmon and Kale Gnocchi with pesto

She is currently breastfed first thing, after her 2 naps, before bed and still one night feed. (So about 5 feeds).

I know the guidance is I can breastfeed for as long as I want but tbh, I’m kind of ready to stop once she turns one. She also starts nursery the week after she turns one so seems a good time to tailor off.

But, how?! I know she should be having breast milk until she’s one, but I’m thinking that it’ll be really tough going from our current routine straight into nursery with no breastfeeding.

Therefore, should I start tapering down the day time breastfeeding now in preparation even though she’s not quite one yet?

Or do I have to keep up with the 4 / 5 feeds until she’s a bit older, and just hope she’s ok at nursery? (She will have formula so that’s an option for them).

Im just a bit confused about what feeding looks like over the next few months!

Don't forget breastfeeding isn't just about food it is also comfort. You may find that starting nursery will be stressful for her and time away from you. She may well be fine with formula but when she is back with you she will look for the comfort of breast. The day feeds will probably be the easiest to drop so maybe drop those slowly by distracting her and keep the morning and evening ones. My dc1 always wanted breast milk when he came home from Nursery. But eventually over months that stopped. The night feed was the last to go.
