just wondering if anyone had any advice my formula fed 8 week old baby isn’t pooping much she usually goes every 3 days or so but it feels like it’s been longer this past week she’s still eating and isn’t screaming in pain and when she does go it’s soft and yellow the consistency it should be we have been the dr’s this week and he didn’t seem concerned he said it could just be her normal but I don’t n ow sometimes she does look like she’s trying to push something out she farts loads I can’t do bicycle legs cus she has to wear a palvik harness due to hip dysplasia I have a new fear unlocked that she’s going have a massive poonami whilst we’re out somewhere as surely what goes in must come out at some point lol

Hi, have you introduced a new formula or anything different recently?

My newborn baby suddenly went from pooing after every feed, to pooing once a week, after we introduced formula.

Our doctor wasn't concerned either, seeing as baby's tummy was soft and he wasn't in pain. He just said some babies only go once a week and that's ok. Even at 7 months he still only goes every 5 days or so

No we’ve been using cow and gate the wholes time do you think I should try a diffferent brand and see if that changes anything l, yeah she doesn’t seem to be in any pain and she still has her normal amount each feed it’s just very strange to now poo much isn’t it

I'd personally not change the formula again as this can cause further toilet changes. If the doctor isn't worried, I'd keep on as you are. If your baby seems otherwise happy and has normal wet nappies, she will poo soon. My doctor told need they won't tend to investigate further until it's been 10+ days

try laying them flat, rubbing belly in circles anti-clockwise and pushing legs into belly very softly. that worked with my DC x

Brown sugar and water that's what I would give ( I'm old school mum btw )
