Hi all,
I am currently 4 months post birth,
I started the progesterone only pill 3 weeks ago and losing crazy amounts of hair like it did last time I was on it,
apparently taking the combi pill will stop the hair loss as it has estrogen in it. Label says not to take while breastfeeding as it reduces the amount of milk produced but the nhs and other websites say it’s okay after the initial 6 weeks of birth.
so I was wondering is anyone on the combi pill and breast feeding with no issues?

I'm just place marking OP as I was under the impression the COCP was not suitable for use whilst breastfeeding. I am breastfeeding my newborn and it would be my contraceptive of choice if my periods return so I'm interested to see others responses.

If you look up Wendy Jones breastfeeding network medicine fact sheets or elactancia there is information on medication and breastfeeding. Also kellymom is often recommended.

@LegoHouse274 I know you said if your periods return, remember you can ovulate before your first period returns in case you’re not using other contraception.

Combined pill not recommended when breastfeeding. POP can be taken.

Sorry, I can see my post was unclear. I completely understand about bf not being a contraceptive - it's just my preference for the COCP is to lighten my heavy periods. Without periods I am happy to just use condoms. But thank you to pp for highlighting an important point nevertheless.
