Bottle feeding stress!

Hi All,

I'm really hoping someone can come along with some advice for how to help my 5 month old enjoy her bottles more.

For the last few weeks we have had a battle on every bottle- she used to happily have 6-7 oz with one or two natural small breaks in the middle to burp without any real fuss or crying. Recently she will take 1-3 oz max, and then basically refuse the rest for the next 30 minutes. She is still hungry, we can tell the difference between when she's actually had enough and when she's just being fussy.
She will just stop and then when we go to offer the bottle again cry or turn away etc. Eventually she will either cry from hunger and accept the rest or we keep offering and she will decide il have it now and finish it- but this is taking 40 minutes to an hour every single time. This is regardless on if it's the first or last feed of the day.

I honestly don't know what the problem is but she's clearly unhappy and it's not doing either of us any good. Any suggestions?

When did you last go up a teat size? The behaviour you’re describing was always a sign for mine that they needed a faster flow.

My 8 month old still does this. He used to have silent reflux. No solutions, just solidarity. It sucks

We're on mam size 2 at the min, which to be fair she has been on a little while now but the reviews about the 3's all say just how fast they are so its been putting me off trying them if that wasn't the problem in the first place.. I didn't want to make her hate feeding even more while trying if that wasn't the problem..

You won’t know until you try. Yes they’re a lot faster than the 2s but equally they’re 4 months+ so at 5 months there’s a decent chance she can handle it.

Definitely try a the next tear sized. If that doesn't work you could try swapping your a comfort formula.
