Milton Steriliser Tablets - Smell?

Has anyone used Milton cold water tablets for sterilising bottles, pump parts etc? I've decided to use them on advice of the health visitor (I don't have space for an electric steriliser and my microwave is too small for others I've tried).

I've followed the instructions and left some MAM bottles, a haakaa pump and electric pump parts in over night in 5lt with one tablet. Took them out this morning and the plastic bottle parts had a white powdery film on them and everything had a faint smell of chlorine.

Is this normal? It seems that it is but am nervous about using them in case it's not. Would just like some reassurance from others who have used them in the past.

Thank you!!

The smell is normal, mine are 18m now and I quite miss it.

Nothing had a film on though, although it does eventually make the teats a bit cloudy. Micro sterilising turns them yellow though so swings and roundabouts.
