Back to work - combi feeding open cup

Hello,

I'm back to work in 4 weeks and my partner will be on leave with DD for 6 months.

She's EBF and we've only managed to get her to take milk from an open cup.

My plan is to feed her before and after work, and then for my partner to give her expressed milk and/or formula from a cup during the day. She'll also be starting on solids in the next couple of weeks.

Does anyone have any advice on how to transition her to daytime cup feeding over the next few weeks, how to know how much to give her etc?

Thanks

Bf babies take roughly 25 floz in 24 hours so you need to work out how many feeds in 24 hours she has to see roughly how much she'll need per feed.

The usual advice is to drop one feed every 2 weeks but it doesn't sound as though you have time for that. How many feeds does she usually have in the time that you'll be at work?

@PolaroidPrincess ah thanks, that's helpful! I'll see how many feeds she's doing and work out rough amounts to give that way.

She feeds about ever 2 hours, so she'd probably do 3-4 feeds while I'm working.

I've got 4 weeks left, so will have to experiment and see if she'll tolerate dropping the feeds a bit faster (I will actually be wfh though, so I could still do some feeds in the day if I really had to)
