10 day old on 4oz?

Hi all,

my daughter is 10 days old, born 7lbs 6.
she started off comfortably taking 1.5-2oz, since then has increased to 4oz every 3-4 hours. She never spits up or vomits, however she sometimes still seems hungry after 4oz?! Can this be normal? Do we have a greedy/hungry baby or is there anything else we can try?
we do try to settle and comfort her first with cuddles or her dummy, but sometimes she will just continually spit the dummy out.
Any advice appreciated :)

Are you pace feeding or letting her guzzle it?

I would feed her to her cues, so if she is still looking for more, go ahead and offer it.

It is easy to overfeed by following the mouth with the teat as the baby turns away when full, you sometimes see people doing the 'twist' to try and get another mouthful in, over-riding baby's feeding cues and patterns. I don't think you'll be doing this, you are switched on and responsive parents.

In that case I'd also follow her cues. If she's not getting gassy and uncomfortable, isn't spewing it by all back up and you're taking it slow and steady then if she's asking for more I'd give it.
