some of you will know that I have had problems breastfeeding- well, i've blogged it all and it can be found here.

I hope that if anyone is going through what I have been through they can find some reassurance from my blog- it's here

Thing is- if you want to carry on they should support you- but whether they do or not is up to the individual GP. The thing with domperidone is that as it's not actually licensed for this purpose some gp's will get out of it that way. You could always buy it and start off a course and then try and get your gp to prescribe it- it's called Motilium

Thanks, think I'll do that. How long generally does it take to see any improvement if its going to happen?

Pixiefish · 22/04/2008 15:30

anything from a couple of days to a month iirc

After starting domperidone, it may take three or four days before you notice any effect, though sometimes mothers notice an effect within 24 hours. It appears to take two to three weeks to get a maximum effect, but some mothers have noted effects only after 4 or more weeks. It is reasonable to give domperidone a trial of at least four, and better, six weeks before saying it doesn?t work.
