bf: how quickly does supply change to match demand?

11wo ds is unwell for last 24hrs with temperature and feeding a lot less than normal. gp says it's a tummy bug and just feed to demand. but will my supply go down and how quickly? and if so, will it just come back up as ds gets better and feeds more or do I need to express to maintain supply (haven't been very successful at expressing before)?

ds quite sleepy and lethargic right now (and, tbh, not demanding anything - but he'll feed a little if I put him next to breast). I really want to be able to provide him food he needs to recover when he feels better!

MamaChris, it will respond very quickly indeed....please don't be concerned about this. In fact, you will prob not notice any drop at all.
