Lactating while not pregnant...

I finished bf DD2 last September when she was 2 years old. I fed her until I had absolutely not milk.

Recently I have started to lactate again. I am NOT pregnant. Can anyone shed any light on the subject?

there is some info on this here

go to your gp to get your prolactin levels checked. It is quite common.

Thanks for the prompt responses.

I have three children and am at home. I am trying desperately NOT to get pregnant!!! I'd be carted off by the men in white coats if that happens...

Thanks for the link.

I shall ring GP and take it from there.

Thanks again.

My friend is going through the same thing with unknown cause (she's had lots of blood tests but nothing) but she is desperate for another child so I think her body may be trying one way or another

If you have started the pill recently you can start to produce what looks like milk.

i still lactate nearly a year after giving up bfing

anti depressants can make you lactate too

Not on pill or antidepressants.

I had no milk at all from September until recently. DH is not happy as they are yet again out of bounds!!!

It may pass in as little as a week - your DH is not doing any harm touching them and he won't make the problem worse by doing so. He may just get a bit wet that's all
