My baby just turned 1 and we are still formula feeding as we’ve offered cows milk a few times and she won’t have it! What is going on? Is this normal? Also should I be warming it up and if so how? Many thanks for any help

So you are presenting it in the very same cup/bottle as the formula and she looks at you and says ‘no I won’t have that’? How does she know the difference?

My youngest dd refused all milk other than mine! Incredibly frustrating. She ended up breastfeeding until two and a half as she was a crap eater (weaning was a nightmare, just not interested in food at all) and I just couldn't get enough nutrition in her. My first DD was the complete opposite!!

Apologies, no practical tips, just know it's not necessarily something you're doing 'wrong'.

I assume she tastes it and then says no?

Have you thought about mixing formula and cows milk and reducing the percentage of formula gradually ?

This.
Start to mix the cows milk in with her formula, gradually, say 1oz cows, 5oz formula and increase the amount of cows milk over a week or so until she is drinking mostly cows milk. You can use cows milk on cereal, in sauces, smoothies etc and cheese and yoghurts all count towards dairy intake too.

How much milk is she having? She only needs 10 Floz or 300 ml a day.

My daughter has a dairy allergy but she was 18 months before she drank anything that wasn't formula. At 12 months she was almost solely formula fed as she was very slow to engage with weaning. She was 20 months before she ate enough and accepted oat milk which allowed us to reduce her formula coming off it completely at 24 months. She was under paeds and dieticians at this point and they weren't concerned. Keep offering and go with them.
