Im hand expressing. Most of the time it is cloudy/milky however one duct always produces like an more orange tint. Like honey color. I collected from that duct only to show you. Is this normal one gland doing something different than the others?

One of mine always expressed very yellow/maybe orangey and the other almost clear.
I imagine it’s normal but maybe ask your midwife if you’re concerned.

Yeah it's normal. I did colostrum harvesting at the end of my second pregnancy, had 7 syringes full of mostly clear colostrum but one time I was expressing and yellow colostrum started coming out of my right nipple. I asked my midwife about it and she said it was normal and didn't matter what colour it was. I think I had a look online too and it said colostrum can be clear, white, yellow or like honey they're all normal colours.

Yes that is completely normal! I just mean that one duct produces always yellow like always always while the other ducts are clear

Ohhhh I see what you mean, I didn't answer that very well! Not sure what the reason is behind it but the few times my colostrum was yellow it only ever came out of my right nipple and not my left so probably down to specific ducts but all the midwife told me was it can come out a range of colours 😅

WhiteHorse92 · 02/07/2024 16:13

To be honest because colostrum is referred to as 'liquid gold' I expected all of mine to come out that colour like honey, not clear! 😅

cherisexx · 02/07/2024 18:51

Do you mean one duct or just the whole other nipple? Im worried because its just one duct

To be honest I'm not too sure, the yellow stuff was thicker and just came out as one big glob so not sure if it was coming out from multiple ducts

This information is very helpful to me, I have also encountered this situation. Solar Smash
