Does formula increase constipation?

I’ve been EBF for 3 months and I’m tired of it!! I want to try combi feeding.

but

My first daughter had very bad constipation when she was on formula until she started solids. She was hospitalised as she had very hard stools. My second is pooing fine but I guess the trauma of what my first went through it putting me off introducing formula.

And whilst my mum is encouraging combi if it’s what I want; she knows a few babies tfarvstruugked to poo.

any tips?

It can cause it yes. What aspects of BFing are you tired of? If it's always being on deck, you could pump and save to feel less anxious.

@MrsTerryPratchett its cracked nipples which has started doing this shooting pain. I don’t have time to “air them out” when I’ve put lanolin on them because my baby is constantly on me.

It’s also being the only one reliable for feeds.

I am expressing but I haven’t gotten into a routine of it yet - and I find that I don’t have enough milk when I express - he feeds well from the boob but wants more when I express.
