Baby projectile vomits from powdered formula but not ready made

Hi mummy’s.
really need some help/ advice. Baby has been EBF since birth to 4 months. At 4 months we introduced one formula feeding at night of ready made Aptamil. However we recently tried the powered Aptamil and he PROJECTILE vomitted his whole stomach out. A few days later we tried again and the same thing happened. It was so so distressing, he was so upset. I can’t forgive myself but I’m so confused as to what it was if the instant and powered version are meant to be the same? Please, has anyone got any advice? I would ideally like to transition to more formula as he gets a bit older ( he is 6 months now) but now I feel so awful as it wouldn’t have happened if I had just BF him but would also like a bit of freedom back ( selfishly!)
any knowledge about why this has happened? He has yogurt now and I’ve eaten dairy since he was born?

many thanks in advance!!

I think the ready made is easier to digest.
Projectile looks shocking but is quite common. How are you giving the bottle ? I would give tiny amounts v slowly, did you pace feed ? And stop v v regularly to wind.

So it was more than projectile I would say as he was heaving after he had got it all out for a good 30 minutes, crying and so upset. Like his whole stomach emptied.
he has the Dr Browns bottles with the anti colic thing inside. He normally has half the bottle, we stop and burp and then proceed ( this is the ready made ). I followed the same- made a 100ml bottle.
is it something in the powered he is allergic to? He’s been so upset since and has now just fallen asleep :(

Keep to the pre mixed for a while and try powdered in a couple of months if you can't afford pre mixed I think. And also try if for the first time I. The day time so it doesn't mess up his sleep
